Hot on the heels of our previous announcement of big new CFConfig features, we've got another release to let you know about!  This release should all be completely backwards compatible, but we’ve added a bunch of new behaviors so please report any issues you may have.  This release was all about relieving the pain of Lucee developers dealing with the duality of their server and web context.  Some config has to go in the server admin and some config has to go in the web admin.  CFConfig previously would only automatically import config into the server context which left you with a manual task to get your web config imported.  

Today we've released a new version of CFConfig-- your friendly neighborhood CLI for configuring Adobe and Lucee servers.  CFConfig sees a lot of little releases that we don't announce, but they are usually very small little releases adding a single setting here or there.  Today's release has a nice collection of brand new features that seemed worth talking about.

As part of that effort, all our Google Group threads have been imported to the new Ortus Community and effective immediately, our Google Groups are closed for further posting.

Adobe released ColdFusion 2021 this week.  It's a pretty big release with a modularization of the core engine and a nice list of language enhancements.

Being a new platform from Ortus, I wanted to take some time to dive in to the tech stack we are using to build CFCasts. Many people ask us how we would build a modern CFML site. Well, here's at least one answer.

I wanted to highlight a recent project I help a client out with, where we used CFConfig to help automate the process of applying government STIGs to ColdFusion servers.  A STIG, or Security Technical Implementation Guide, is meant to standardize the process of setting up and auditing secure servers.  If you manage servers in a government or corporate setting, you may be familiar with this.  If not, you should still be automating your locks downs anyway, so keep reading.  

We are proud to finally release version 1.0.0 of CFConfig.  This library has been in development for nearly two years (20 months) and is already in use for production deploys and development setups.  CFConfig is a CLI tool built upon a set of services that can manage the configuration of your Adobe, Lucee, and Railo servers so you never have to manually setup a server again.
